Match the hub to the equipment you already own. Toomey hubs pair with large syringes and high vacuum tubing, Luer lock suits smaller syringes and fat transfer. How are reusable liposuction cannulas cleaned between cases?

Flush the lumen with water immediately so fat and blood do not set, then pass a matched cleaning brush or stylet along the full length. Follow with enzymatic detergent and ultrasonic treatment, flush again, dry the bore with air and inspect the ports for burrs. Steam sterilise at 134 degrees C with the hub open. A blocked or scratched lumen is the usual cause of poor flow.

Which cannulas suit fat harvesting for grafting?

Harvesting favours blunt tips with several small ports, typically 3 mm to 4 mm outside diameter, run at lower vacuum through a Luer lock hub into a syringe. How long does a stainless steel aspiration cannula last?

With proper cleaning, a reusable steel cannula serves for years rather than cases. Working life ends when the tube bends, the ports lose their rounded edge or the hub weld loosens. Inspect straightness against a flat surface and run a finger over the ports before each list. Bent cannulas should be retired rather than straightened, since the lumen may already be deformed.
