Larger oral and abdominal tips come in standard and long bodies. Finishes are mirror or satin, with matt available where reflection is a nuisance. All pieces are reusable and autoclavable at 134 degrees C, and multi size groups can be trayed in an aluminium sterilisation box.

Bore drives evacuation rate and clogging risk. Wide oral tips clear vomit, clot and irrigation quickly, so they belong in airway and general theatre trolleys. Narrow fine tips of 7 Fr to 10 Fr keep the field visible in sinus, middle ear and neuro work without stripping delicate tissue. Shielded abdominal tips prevent bowel and omentum being drawn into the lumen. Most departments stock all three classes rather than a single compromise size.
Vented and non vented tip options
A thumb vent lets the surgeon modulate pull without reaching for the machine, which protects mucosa and stops the tip grabbing tissue. Non vented tips deliver constant maximum draw and suit fast bulk clearance. Fine tips are usually specified with a vent for controlled work, while large oral tips are commonly ordered both ways so the scrub team can choose. Keeping lumens patent through reprocessing
Blocked suction is nearly always a cleaning failure rather than a manufacturing one. Aspirate warm water through the tip at the end of the case, then pass the matching stylet or a lumen brush along the full length before soaking. Ultrasonic cleaning helps at bends and joints. Autoclave at 134 degrees C and dry completely. Keep spare stylets on the tray, since a lost stylet usually means the tube stops being cleaned properly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which suction tip suits ear and sinus surgery?
Fine angled tips in the 7 Fr to 10 Fr range are the usual choice, fitted with a thumb vent so draw can be eased near mucosa and the ossicular chain. A matching stylet should be ordered with each tube. Larger 12 Fr tips are useful for clearing blood quickly during septal and turbinate work, so many ENT trays carry two or three gauges.
Do the suction tubes come with cleaning stylets?
Fine bore tips are normally supplied with a stylet sized to the lumen, and spares can be ordered separately in packs. Stylets are made from the same stainless grade and are autoclavable at 134 degrees C alongside the tube. For larger oral and abdominal tips a lumen brush is more practical than a wire, and we can quote brushes in the same order.
Will these handles fit standard suction tubing?
Connector ends are made to accept common theatre tubing bores, and we can machine to a size you specify. If you already run a particular pump or wall regulator, send the tubing dimension or a sample connector and the hub will be matched to it, so new tubes drop straight onto your existing line without adaptors.
Can I order a mixed suction set for a new theatre?
Yes. We assemble mixed groups of oral, fine and abdominal tips with handles and stylets, laid out in an aluminium sterilisation box with a silicone mat or fitted tray. Contents are set by your list rather than a fixed pack. Wholesale, hospital tender and distributor enquiries are welcome, and OEM branding can be applied to the whole set.
