What a triple Mercedes liposuction cannula is
A triple Mercedes liposuction cannula takes the Mercedes pattern as far as it goes. Where a Mercedes has one ring of three ports and a double has two, this one has three rings, nine ports in all. Counted that way it is a nine port liposuction cannula, and the number is the point of it.
Nine ports along the end of the shaft mean that on every stroke a long stretch of the cannula is drawing tissue in, from every side. That is what high volume work on a large area wants: the abdomen, the thighs and the back, where a lot of fat has to come out evenly in as few passes as possible.
Key design features
Nine ports in three rings
The ports sit in three rings of three along the end of the shaft. The longer the run of ports, the more of each stroke is spent drawing tissue in, and that is the whole difference between this and a single Mercedes.
A closed, rounded tip
The end is closed and rounded. On a cannula with this many ports the tip does very little of the work. It leads the shaft through the fat, and the nine ports behind it do the rest.
Five ways to finish the back end
The order form offers five ways to finish the back end: a super fix handle in style A or style B, an aluminum Luer lock, a super Luer lock, or a Toomey hub. There is no steel Luer lock and no threaded fitting on this one. A Luer lock screws onto a syringe or a Luer handle, and the Toomey hub takes a 60 cc Toomey syringe. A super fix handle turns the cannula into one piece for a suction line. The price runs from 22 dollars with the aluminum Luer lock to 55 with the style A handle.
Four diameters, nothing under 20 cm
It comes in 2.4, 3, 4 and 5 mm. The 2.4 mm is made in 20 and 25 cm only, and the 5 mm in 25, 30 and 35 cm. There is no 2 mm and nothing shorter than 20 cm, so the smallest triple Mercedes we make is still a body cannula.
Which size to order
Thirteen sizes, read off our own order form on 21 October 2026. Not every length is made at every diameter, and the form shows only the sizes that go with the hub you choose.
| Diameter | Lengths on the order form | How many |
|---|---|---|
| 2.4 mm | 20 cm, 25 cm | 2 |
| 3 mm | 20 cm, 25 cm, 30 cm, 35 cm | 4 |
| 4 mm | 20 cm, 25 cm, 30 cm, 35 cm | 4 |
| 5 mm | 25 cm, 30 cm, 35 cm | 3 |
Where it is used
The uses below come from the Google AI Mode answer read on 21 October 2026, which describes the triple Mercedes as a high volume body sculpting cannula. The last column is ours.
| Use | Areas named | Where our sizes fit |
|---|---|---|
| High volume body contouring | Abdomen, thighs and back | 4 and 5 mm, 30 and 35 cm |
| Even removal over a large area | The same large areas, in fewer passes | 4 mm, 25 to 35 cm |
| Fat harvesting | Larger donor areas | 2.4 and 3 mm, on a Toomey hub or a Luer lock syringe |
| Small areas and the face | Not named for this pattern | Not this cannula. It starts at 2.4 mm and 20 cm |
What it is for, and what it is not for
Nine ports is the most this family offers, and more is not always better. The table names the jobs where another cannula of ours does the work properly.
| Job | Use this cannula? | What to use instead |
|---|---|---|
| High volume removal on a large area | Yes | This is the job it is made for |
| A small area or a fine finishing pass | No | A single Mercedes in 2 or 2.4 mm |
| Fibrous or previously treated tissue | No | A cutting tip, such as our cobra or V dissector cannulas |
| Infusing tumescent fluid | No | An infiltration cannula, from our tumescent infiltration range |
| A steel Luer lock or a threaded handle | Not offered | The double Mercedes, which takes all seven hubs |
How it compares with the rest of the family
Five patterns make up this family on our site. The second column is what each trade name means on the tip, and the last is read off each product’s own order form.
| Pattern | What the tip carries, as the trade uses the name | What that is for | On our order form |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes | three ports in one ring around the tip | the general pattern for debulking and for harvesting | 2 to 5 mm, 15 to 35 cm, 7 hub styles |
| Double Mercedes | two rings of three, six ports | more open area per pass on larger volumes | 3 to 5 mm, 25 to 35 cm, 7 hub styles |
| Triple Mercedes (this page) | three rings of three, nine ports | the most open area in the family | 2.4 to 5 mm, 20 to 35 cm, 5 hub styles |
| Two lateral, one central hole | one central port with a lateral port either side of it | ports that can be turned away from the skin | 2.4 to 5 mm, 15 to 35 cm, 7 hub styles |
| Three holes diagonal | three ports stepped along and around the tip | suction spread over a longer stretch of the shaft | no size or hub choice on the listing, so tell us both when you order |
Materials and finish
Every triple Mercedes cannula we make is formed from high quality medical grade stainless steel. The steel itself is made to a German specification. We do not publish a grade number.
Each of the nine ports is cut through the wall of the tube, and their edges are what tissue passes over on the way in. The shaft is straight. On the aluminum Luer lock the hub is aluminum, and every hub is fitted to the back end of the same steel shaft, so the hub you choose changes how it connects and nothing about the tip.
Caring for it
Flush it as soon as it comes out of use, then brush the full length of the lumen. Nine ports in three rings are nine places for fat to lodge, so clean each ring from the outside and look through the ports against a light before it goes for sterilizing. Dry it, steam sterilize it on the normal instrument cycle, and store it straight.
Ordering and wholesale
The triple Mercedes liposuction cannula is made by Adas Instruments in our own workshop and sold direct, which is why the price sits where it does against the catalog houses. Order one for a single tray, or in quantity for a hospital list or a distributor line. We do OEM work under your own brand and your own item numbers. Send us a sample and we will hold a run to your pattern rather than ours. Stock items ship from our own workshop. Backorder items take 10 to 12 working days to make. Every instrument carries a three year replacement warranty against manufacturing defects. Production is controlled under an ISO 13485 quality management system.
Frequently asked questions
What is a triple Mercedes liposuction cannula used for?
It is used for high volume fat removal in body contouring, mainly across the abdomen, thighs and back. With nine ports in three rings, more of each stroke is spent drawing tissue in than with a single or double Mercedes, which is why it is chosen when a lot has to come out evenly over a large area.
How much does a triple Mercedes liposuction cannula cost?
The base price is 32 dollars and the hub moves it up or down: 22 dollars with the aluminum Luer lock, 32 with the super Luer lock, 37 with the Toomey hub, and 45 or 55 with a super fix handle. The size does not change the price, and every cannula carries our three year replacement warranty.
How many ports does a triple Mercedes cannula have?
Nine, set as three rings of three behind a rounded tip. That is how the trade uses the name: a Mercedes has one ring of three, a double Mercedes two rings and six ports, and a triple Mercedes three rings and nine. The extra rings are what make it a high volume cannula.
Which hubs does it take?
Five: a super fix handle in style A or style B, an aluminum Luer lock, a super Luer lock, or a Toomey hub for a 60 cc Toomey syringe. It is not offered with a steel Luer lock or a threaded fitting. If you need either of those on a Mercedes pattern, the double Mercedes takes all seven.
How is a triple Mercedes liposuction cannula different from a single Mercedes?
A single Mercedes has one ring of three ports and is made from 2 mm and 15 cm, so it covers small areas as well as large ones. The triple has nine ports and starts at 2.4 mm and 20 cm, which makes it the cannula for large areas and high volume rather than for finishing.
