Sculpo mammaplasty retractor materials and finish
The Sculpo is made from high quality medical grade stainless steel, satin finished so the light coming back out of the scope channel is not competing with a reflection off the blade. The steel itself is made to a German specification. The channel bore is finished smooth end to end so a telescope slides without binding, and the stopcock is machined and tested to turn cleanly after autoclaving rather than on the first day only.
Caring for a sculpo mammaplasty retractor
Remove the telescope before cleaning the Sculpo. Flush the channel and the stopcock through until they run clear, every case, and work a channel brush the full length of the bore: a channel that has held a scope and then dried is the commonest failure on this pattern.
